Celebrating 20 years of one of the top rated pirate festivals in the world!! Find out why pirate lovers come from all over the country to enjoy the sights and sounds of 18th century Hampton overrun by pirates each year. Hampton’s waterfront comes alive with dozens of pirate re-enactors, costumed in historically accurate garb, who transform today’s Hampton into the busy seaport of yesterday. Led by Blackbeard the Pirate himself, re-enactors help visitors step back in time and re-live the history and legends of 1718 Hampton. The Festival offers a variety of children’s activities, live musical entertainment, fireworks, period vendors, arts and crafts, and much more!
The public will be welcomed to come enjoy brunch or lunch at the culinary spots in the district, then walk through the Art in the Park show to select artwork for their home or a unique gift for mom for Mother’s Day. This is also the kick-off weekend for the ViBe Mural Festival when 10 artists will be painting murals on 10 walls throughout the district.
It is our mission:
To educate and entertain the public by offering a unique look into a chapter of human history that is not often discussed. Through a colorful mixture of period merchants, props and decorations, live entertainment, and living history demonstrations, we bring the Middle Ages and European Renaissance to life in an exciting two day period of magic and medieval merriment.
